An online store can hold stock at several locations while showing the customer one delivery day. That simple customer choice requires a clear internal agreement about where the order is assembled and when it is ready. The calendar must look beyond available delivery capacity. For Checkout & Delivery, the shop needs to determine which stock location or consolidation step supports the feasibility of the chosen day.

Make the order’s physical route visible

In a fictional online store, standard frames are held in warehouse A and large tops in warehouse B. The customer orders a complete worktable. Before the vehicle leaves, the components need to be in the same place unless separate deliveries have been deliberately chosen. Map that route with the employees involved. Record where picking, checking and any transfer take place. This makes clear which preparation step must be complete before a day can be offered to the customer.

Do not use the stock figure as the only indication of readiness. An item may be administratively available but still need to be moved to the correct dispatch point. Who determines the time required? How does planning notice a disruption to that transfer? Record the answers in the organisation’s working agreement. The online store does not need to show all those internal details, but the customer commitment must be based on an executable route.

Choose one clear delivery rule for the first implementation

A limited pilot might support only orders that can leave from one agreed location, for example. Another approach is a combined delivery after internal consolidation. Describe which orders fit and which need manual assessment. The existing Yindle delivery component provides a basis for date selection and capacity. It does not demonstrate general automatic distribution across warehouses, stock allocation or multiple shipments. Those functions require separate analysis and implementation.

Also make clear which system supplies the relevant availability. If the online store and ERP show different pictures, the team needs to know which source governs the planning decision and how differences are investigated. Do not try to resolve every discrepancy by opening up the calendar. That may merely transfer uncertainty to the customer. Start with product groups whose physical preparation is well understood, and use unclear cases to sharpen process agreements.

Test a complete order through both warehouses

Use fictional product data and follow the order from selection to work instruction. Check which location appears on the handover and which employee oversees preparation. Add a case where internal transport takes place a day later. Can the team see which commitment needs reassessment? A successful trial demonstrates both the calendar and an owner for the step that gets the order to the dispatch point on time.

Finally, ask customer service to explain the same delivery commitment without using internal warehouse codes. The customer mainly needs an understandable agreement and a clear contact route. For the data connection, Yindle Connect is relevant. If the warehouse logic requires a different order flow, you can discuss custom software. The result is a simple delivery choice for the customer, supported internally by a clear plan for picking and preparation.
