A custom Medusa module becomes easier to understand when it manages one recognisable business concept. That might be an advice selection, an installation requirement or an approved product combination. Do not start with a collection of extra fields in different places. First describe which concept has its own meaning and lifecycle. This gives the custom development a boundary that non-technical colleagues can explain too.<\/p>\n

Find the concept behind the manual administration<\/h2>\n

Review the lists or notes employees use alongside the online store. They often contain knowledge that does not fit the standard product or order model well. Ask what one row in such a list represents. Is it a product characteristic, a temporary assessment or a separate agreement? Only the latter kind of defined concept may require its own model and process.<\/p>\n

In a fictional exhibition furnishings shop, employees assess which stand setup suits a chosen space. The assessment may have its own status, explanation and product relationship. A data model alone is not a usable product. Let an employee create the concept, assess it and find it against the correct commerce object. Use a fictional example that follows the entire route. Ask the employee to explain in their own words what the outcome means and which next step is possible. Unclear answers indicate missing process explanations.<\/p>\n

At handover, also record how new rules are added and which examples need to be checked again during future changes. The module then remains understandable as the range grows. The team does not need to understand every technical decision, but it does need to identify where the business meaning is recorded and who decides it.<\/p>\n
