Process PayPal transactions into AFAS as a separate, auditable technical posting process with a fixed external reference per transaction. Distinguish sales, fees, refunds and corrections, record the intent to write before sending and verify an unclear response before posting again. Start with a transaction type, not an amount<\/h2>\n

A positive or negative amount does not fully explain what happened. PayPal may report a payment, fee, refund, dispute or correction. For a technical integration, each supported type needs an explicit mapping to the AFAS route approved by finance. Unknown types must not silently disappear under \u2018other\u2019 merely because that makes the balance appear correct.<\/p>\n

Retain the PayPal transaction ID, relevant order reference, currency, gross\/net components and source timestamp. Minimise personal data and store only what matching, auditing and recovery need. The integration creates a snapshot and uses `PP-88021` in a deterministic AFAS identity. The connection drops during the write request. The local status remains \u2018outcome uncertain\u2019; a second posting is not sent immediately.<\/p>\n

    The recovery step searches AFAS for the exact deterministic identity. The record is present and the checked fields match. The first attempt is confirmed and the process continues without a duplicate. Another transaction has a new, unmapped type. It remains unposted in a work queue with its source values and requires finance review. This fictional example demonstrates technical control; it does not suggest which general ledger account to use.<\/p>\n

    Finally, assign an owner to each error category. Authentication and API reachability belong to technical operations, an unknown transaction type to finance and a missing order reference to e-commerce operations. One shared error queue slows recovery and encourages risky manual workarounds. The screen should therefore immediately show the correct team, the source information needed and the quick fix that must not be used.<\/p>\n
